Bishop Aubrey Shines calls on CNN to sever ties with contributors who publicly endorse candidates
Tampa, FL – Bishop Aubrey Shines, chairman of Conservative Clergy of Color, demanded CNN sever its contract with contributor Ana Navarro amid reports she will host a virtual event for Joe Biden in Florida. Navarro’s active work for a political candidate conflicts with CNN’s claim to be a non-partisan news outlet, and as such her contract with CNN should be revoked, Bishop Shines said.
“CNN already lets anti-conservative bias run rampant with its reporters, and now it’s not saying a word when one of its contributors spends her time campaigning for Joe Biden. Anyone who campaigns for a candidate should not be allowed to be a commentator on any network,” said Bishop Shines.
“I urge CNN to end its contract with Ana Navarro. They can’t bill themselves as a fair network while employees publicly advocate for one candidate over another. As long as they allow this kind of behavior, their ‘fairness’ is just farce.”
